AHOS is a registered shelter for abused women and their children with the Department of Social Development. At our house, victims of crime and violence are able to live for a period of 1 day up to approximately 3 months depending on the needs of the victims.

DONATIONS can be made in the form of gently used clothing for both women and their children, boys and girls up to 9 years of age. Educational toys and stationery for the children as well as non-perishable food and toiletries (care packs) for both mother and her child or children are also welcome.
If you would like to sign up as a VOLUNTEER, you must be 25 years and older along with an up-to-date police clearance. Volunteer application requests will be subject to the discretion of management.
In most cases abused women and their children leave their homes or place of dwelling with nothing. When they arrive at Athlone House of Strength [AHOS] they are in need of all the basic items a woman or child would need. You can help a woman and her child or children with your donation by contacting us.
